Welcome to the post that is all about guest bedrooms!  Why?  I’m glad you asked!  In a few weeks, we are beginning projects that I have put off for a while…and I am taking you, my readers, along for the entire journey!  So, what will this journey look like?  I have two guest rooms and both will be completely transformed!  The smallest will soon be a study/library…finally a permanent place for all of my many books!  I want to pull up the carpet and install hardwood, change the paint color, add built in bookcases on one wall, and finish it off with two comfortable reading chairs!  I can hardly wait!  The other guest room will get hardwood, new paint, new bedding and window treatments!  Whew!  Writing that makes me tired, and this may take a while to accomplish…but it’s time to get started… I have put it off way too long!  I hope you will follow along as we share updates.  Today I am sharing some inspiration from my Pinterest board “Beauty Sleep“!

Tablescape Tuesday: An “Egg-stra” Special Birthday!

Sometimes life just gets crazy!  With all the busyness of work schedules and a baby shower, we had to postpone a birthday celebration!  And if you’ve been a follower of the blog for very long, you know we love to celebrate birthdays in our family!  Last Friday evening, we were finally able to celebrate our chosen daughter, Katy!  With Easter coming soon, I set an Easter tablescape with lots of beautiful spring color!  We enjoyed many laughs along with some of Katy’s favorite foods!  For dessert, we had everyone’s favorite…red velvet cake!  What better way to celebrate than combining one of our favorite Christian holidays with an “egg-stra” special birthday!

Delightful Dublin

Every year as St. Patrick’s Day approaches I tend to search for an article or book to spend a little time reading and refreshing my mind about Ireland and its history. I had always wanted to visit Ireland, even as a boy when I probably couldn’t find it on a map! Maybe it was because my Mom’s maiden name was Kennedy and there seemed to be an Irish connection a few generations ago. It was like a dream come true for Pam and me to be blessed with the opportunity to visit Ireland last year. It is an intriguing place, a place that we would like to visit again and stay a wee bit longer.

Today we will stop off in Dublin, a fascinating city with a lot to see and do. One striking thing to us was the helpful and friendly people we met on the streets of Dublin. It was as if we were old friends and they had known us forever. A couple of young Irish lads we met “cut loose to singing” (as we might say in the south) ”Sweet Home Alabama”. We felt right at home. Welcome to Dublin !!
