“You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in your word”
Psalm 119:114
Sunday was a day to celebrate the special men in my life and I do that with food! Our sweet family gathered at our table for a southern-style meal of grilled pork chops, potato salad, baked beans, and banana pudding! Sunflowers, with their happy faces, were the star for the tablescape. But, the real stars were the loved ones who sat around the table!!
Sunflowers welcome summer to the table!
I love the blue and yellow combination for warm weather!
Three vases of sunflowers provide the centerpiece!
The tablecloth reminds me of a man’s shirt, so it was ideal for Father’s Day! You probably know by now, I am a fan of mixing patterns…the napkins accent the cloth!
Salad plates add a pop of sunflower color to the stack!
Sunflowers have always been a favorite!
I rarely use B&B plates, (we aren’t quite that formal) but they add a nice touch!
I did add a pair of candles to join the centerpiece!
Did you know that sunflowers are an important source of food?
Sunflower oil is a valued and healthy vegetable oil!
Sunflower is an important agricultural crop choice for farmers!
Last week, Butch captured our first bud!
Yesterday, sunflowers were popping out from behind our garden!
“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver”
Proverbs 25:11

Pam, how special to use your home grown sunflowers for your tablescape. It is so cheery and upbeat. Love the contrasting patterns of the napkins and tablecloth. I’m sure they are all gone but I would love both. I have blue willow dishes also. They look great with the pop of yellow in your plates and the sunflowers.
Bonnie, love hearing from you! I just bought the napkins last week and they have a matching tablecloth that I didn’t purchase. I always enjoy using the blue willow! Have a joy-filled weekend!
http://livingwiththanksgiving.blogspot.com/2014/06/provencal-tablecloth-inspiration.html is a link to a sunflower post I did a while back. Your post prompted me to look it up. I couldn’t remember much about it. Crazy!
I would grow sunflowers if I had sun but I have mostly shade.
Bonnie, just viewed and read your beautiful post. I left a comment on your blog. Are you planning to blog again? I believe I read a couple of weeks ago when I visited that you have sickness in your family. I am so sorry. My husband’s parents are in poor health with memory issues! Blessings and hugs!
This is gorgeous! I love the contrast of yellow and blue. The additions of sunflowers is absolutely perfect. Beautiful tablescape! Thanks for linking up at Inspiration Thursday. Hope to see you next week!
Thanks! Have a great weekend, Lela!
Perfect setting! I love sunflowers and have a few random ones that comeback each year. This year is the first time that I didn’t have any giant ones return. I have some almost ready to bloom at the end of the front sidewalk. Can’t wait! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
