Tablescape Tuesday: Bright Spot In My Day

“Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:11‬ ‭

I love tablescaping in the garden for so many reasons, mainly because it is so easy compared to one inside! The backdrop of God’s creation provides so much to see and enjoy…the table becomes secondary!  After a couple of showers Saturday afternoon, the rain stopped and I took advantage of the clouds to have a little fun setting this impromptu table!  The humidity was high, but I survived and wilted only briefly!  I guess you can say it was the bright spot in my day! I hope it is for you, too!

This setting does not take itself too serious, it is just a fun table for four!

I cut the flowers for the centerpiece while setting the table…no arranging, just how they landed in the chartreuse vase!

The lemon napkin rings add a little more punch to the table!

The colorful tablecloth was a purchase last year from TJ Maxx!

I found the plates at Tuesday Morning last summer.  The placemats are a few years old and came from TJ Maxx!

The glasses are a festive addition and a favorite of mine!

Ornamental grass adds a textural backdrop for the table!

“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver”
Proverbs 25:11

  1. I love your garden backdrop on this bright tablescape, Pam! As if the lead photo with the crape myrtle & hydrangea weren’t enough….then the ornamental grasses made it appear as though fireworks were going off! There is nothing more satisfying than witnessing the beauty unfold in a garden in which we toil, is there?! This has been a stellar year for gardening from every region I’ve seen posts, and yours certainly seems to be at peak beauty now.

    • Rita, thanks so much! The garden has certainly been a labor of love, but it has been so pretty this year. Over the past week, we have gotten much needed rain and I am thankful! Wishing you a lovely Tuesday!

You are right. Any table would look beautiful in your garden. What a lush, colorful backdrop. I do love your table, too, and always love it when you use those colorful stems! The colors on your table are vibrant and happy…sets me in a mood for fun outdoors. Happy Tuesday!

  3. I relate to the wilting, Pam! Thanks for persevering and giving us a pleasant and fun table to enjoy today. I love all the color and your garden is divine. So many beautiful vignettes to use as a backdrop.

Pam es una mesa preciosa…llena de colorido y muy alegre, me encanta. He leído bien que ha llovido?…Que maravilla!! por aquí hace mucho calor y una lluvia no vendría mal, claro que sin abusar.
Pam is a beautiful … table full of colorful and very cheerful, I love it. I’ve read good that it rained? … How wonderful !! here it is very hot and rain would not hurt, of course not abused.

    • Dolores, siempre gracias por sus visitas preciados! Esperamos que pueda obtener la lluvia! Bendiciones, Pam

Dolores, thanks always for your treasured visits! Hopefully you will get rain! Blessings, Pam

Fabulous! You hit a home run here. I am always in favor of using a plain charger or placemat when the tablecloth is this busy, and you found some great ones with lots of spunk. It’s all so perfect and full of joy!

The perfect summer table. The colors just capture the eye and convey a sense of happy innocence. How wonderful that you have flowers in your yard to cut for the centerpiece! There is nothing like a true garden bouquet. You don’t mention a source for the lemon napkin rings, were they a recent find? I have been wanting to “do” a lemon themed table with a lovely Kate Spade tablecloth that I couldn’t resist and those napkin rings would be just right. Thank you for sharing your tables. MM

This is beautiful. I also read your story about why you table scape and it brought tears to my eyes. Setting a table means so much to family and loved ones. Those times at the table become precious memories. Thank you!
