Tablescape Tuesday: The Humble Orange Pumpkin!

“Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭10:9‬ ‭

Since the beginning of summer, we have been enjoying the great outdoors for Tablescape Tuesday, but not this week…today, we are taking it inside!  You all are invited to join us around our dining room table!  We’ve seen some gorgeous autumn tablescapes in the blog world…some simple and some over-the-top…and the season has just begun!  I know that there are hundreds of ways to set a seasonal table, but today I want to take it back to the basics…with the traditional orange pumpkin!  Yes, I love all the pretty and softer shades of pumpkins, but something about that humble orange just says FALL!

I allow the orange pumpkins to be the stars for this autumn tablesetting!

Using my cream-colored china which you often see, I placed a mini-pumpkin on the salad plates…love this one’s stem.

The centerpiece is really simple…I placed an assortment of pumpkins in a pretty Italian tray that my sweet sister-in-law gave me a couple of years ago.  Does it get any easier than this?

On either side of the tray are real antlers (my guys are hunters), which I love to use in fall and winter.

Adding to the centerpiece is a pair of metal flowers that I have had for years.  As I have often said, shop your house to find a little something unusual to use for your tablescapes.

I used water hyacinth placemats to provide texture on the bare wood, again so simple – I didn’t even have to iron a tablecloth!

Plaid napkins with embellished napkin rings are added for a little sparkle.

“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver”
Proverbs 25:11

I love the early morning light that pours through the dining room bay windows.

As always, I appreciate your visits and love reading your comments!

  1. Nicely done, Pam. Lucky to find that stem on the tiny pumpkin! I am loving the basic white (or is that cream?) china, thinking I need (right!) a set for everyday use. I would gladly get rid of one (or more) sets for a nice, classic set of white or cream. hmmm……

  2. This is gorgeous Pam, the white with real orange pumpkins is elegant yet with those earthy woven mats everything comes together in the perfect fall table! Your sunlit room is gorgeous and I am crazy over the ceramic pumpkin crate!

  3. Pam, this is such an elegant and beautiful table! I love the beautiful cream dishes combined with the orange pumpkins. I adore that pretty tray you used for the centerpiece. I agree with you on shopping your house to create a pretty tablescape. You do not have to spend a fortune to assemble a lovely table setting. You just have to be creative and think outside the box. Your table is gorgeous, and I always love seeing your beautiful dining room! Have a wonderful day!!!

It’s gorgeous! Yes, your pumpkin stem is so fun and whimsical. No better way to add whimsy to a beautiful table set with china than with nature. 🙂 Happy Tuesday!

Without question, pumpkins are my favorite table decor this time of year. As you show, they are versatile and add such happy color to a table. It’s nice to see your lovely dining room again.

  6. Pam, Your dining room is so beautiful. I love light coming in and your photos are lovely showcasing your fall tablescape. I was pleasantly surprised to feel the cooler air and fall like weather returning from our trip.
You can shop your house the best I’ve ever seen! What a great tray from your sister-in-law! It was perfect to fill with pumpkins.

  7. Linda says:

Pam, as always you create amazing tablescapes. Love the plate stack and your cute pumpkins. The tray is gorgeous and is the centerpiece. Love seeing your beautiful dining room.

  8. Lea says:

Pure loveliness on your table! I love my cream/white dishes as they allow for so many ideas with table scapes. Just beautiful and so welcoming!

  9. Jann Olson says:

Stunning table Pam! As much as I adore the unusual pumpkins you can find now days, there is something about that basic orange that screams fall. I, like you always pay attention to the stem. It’s half the fun!! Thanks for sharing with SYC.

Hi Pam, Everything is beautiful! I love the contrast of the pumpkins against the white china and the lovely Italian tray! I really like the pumpkins in the Italian tray with the antlers nearby! Well done! Blessings, Janet

  11. Absolutely beautiful and elegant. I love how you featured the orange pumpkin. Such a beautiful color in nature. Not many things that grown have the vibrant color of a pumpkin. When we say pumpkin orange, everyone knows what color it is. Love everything you have done in your tablescape.

  12. Lori says:

Glad you chose to use the “humble” orange pumpkins as I agree, they are a traditional basic of fall. Love how you’ve showcased them in the centerpiece and at each place setting. They really pop against your lovely cream coloured dishes. Fabulous napkin rings too!

  13. Lori Leeper says:
