“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.”
Proverbs 18:10
Does anyone else feel like autumn has taken its sweet time getting here? The temps have gotten a little lower, but it is still reaching the high 80’s at our house! Usually by this time each year in our Appalachian Foothills, the fall foliage is in full swing…but this year we are getting a fashionably late start! The yellow hues are the only thing in sight, reminding me that the reds and oranges are sure to follow! Today I want to invite you to take a seat under our new pergola and enjoy these golden days of fall!
My inspiration for this autumn table is an antique flower basket quilt that I purchased many years ago at a benefit auction. The gold and brown hues always remind me of my favorite season!

Gold stemware is perfect for this time of year!
Everything you see on the tablescape has been used every autumn for as long as I can remember…I just find different ways to use it from year to year!
The napkin rings are made from bark…combining rustic and casual!

The centerpiece was put together in about five minutes…don’t you love when things just “fall” into place?! Faux autumn stems were gathered around a bronze stand holding a golden pumpkin!
The dinner plates are “Woodland” by Spode with a different bird on each plate. Hurricane globes with pillar candles nestled in coffee beans flank the centerpiece.

“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver”
Proverbs 25:11
Thanks for gathering underneath the pergola sweet friends! I always enjoy your visits and comments!

Pam, what a beautiful tablescape! I am loving your new pergola! The Spode Woodland pattern is one of my favorites, and you have displayed it beautifully! I love the quilt you used as an underpinning to your pretty table! I hope that you have a happy and blessed day!!!
Shannon, thanks so much. The “Woodland” pattern is a favorite of mine…love the autumnal feel! Happy Tuesday!
What a perfect quilt for fall – and for your beautiful fall table. The Spode plates are gorgeous, too. Your new pergola is such a nice place to eat, relax, repeat. Tuesday blessings! 🙂
Thanks so much, Kim! We are in a severe drought in our area and today’s high is 89…where is fall?
A lovely setting and I know your new pergola will be the scene for many a beautiful table. I was in TJ Maxx yesterday and saw some dishes perfect for this time of year I so wanted to come home with. It took great restraint to leave them behind!
Linda, I know the feeling of seeing something so perfect and knowing I don’t NEED anything! You showed discipline!
What an amazing quilt! I love gathering underneath your pergola enjoying your pretty tablescape! All the elements you chose work together beautifully. You have the gift of design and never cease to amaze me.
Have a wonderful week. The weather is so beautiful. Do hope you get some rain.
Thanks so much, Bonnie for your sweet comments! Hopefully some rain soon, 89 degrees here today!
This is so beautiful, Pam! I know that you are enjoying your new pergola immensely! Our temps are back in the 90’s…maybe even a record high for today! I waited until evening to go out to the courtyard to deadhead the flowers yesterday; and it was so hot and humid! What I would give to be able to enjoy your pretty setting!
Shenita, unfortunately the temp is 89 here today…I am so ready for cooler days! Blessings~
I love it my friend! Story lives in every space you create! So thankful you’re sharing it with the world. 🙂
You are so very sweet, Jill! Love you!
It’s beautiful Pam! I know you wish the temps would drop so you could really enjoy it! I just got back, whew, it’s a lot cooler at the beach than it is here- at least you got to escape to New England for a while. I did notice a great change in the trees though, finally some fall color! It’s so much fun to see your table set for fall in your magazine worthy pergola, I am so thrilled for you…your family is going to enjoy your new space so much!
Jenna
Jenna, thanks so much! It has really been not over the past several days. I am so in hopes we get rain on Thursday! But, on a brighter note, there is a little color showing up!
Oh my…I LOVE that quilt and you enhanced it further by the gorgeous table setting!….and how beautiful does that table look under the pergola!!!
Thanks so much, Shirley…hopefully by this weekend it will feel like fall!
Your landscaping and pergola make the perfect setting for this stunning table setting!
What a gorgeous home and grounds you are blessed with.

Thanks sweet, Jemma. We have lived here for 37 years and we love being in the country!
Pam, I love your tablescape and girl, I haven’t seen one yet that has not been magazine worthy to me! I am simply amazed though at how beautiful your garden area is! What a blessing you have my friend. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Cindy, you are so sweet. I enjoy setting a table…sending hugs and wishing you a Happy Weekend!
Gorgeous Pam! I’m in love with your quilt as a foundation for your Woodland Spode! The views of your garden in the background are glorious!
Thanks Mary! I have a large collection of quilts and should use them more often.
Pam- you are an artist with your tablescapes.
I love everything you do 🙂
Happy TOHOT!
Laura, you are too sweet! Happy Weekend!
Hi Pam, Everything looks lovely! I love the Spode china! I also liked the candle in the hurricane with coffee beans! My husband and I drove up to the Chimney Rock/Lake Lure, NC area yesterday and we were disappointed that the only leaves that have changed colors seemed to be the yellow poplars. Maybe we’ll give it 2 weeks and try again! Still in the 80’s here today……Blessings, Janet
Thanks so much, Janet! Our leaves are not changing, but are just falling. We are still in a very severe drought region, we desperately need rain! Happy weekend!
Beautiful table and what a stunning setting under the pergola! Your pergola is stunning.
Thanks Valerie…we are looking forward to spending lots of time there!
So beautiful and festive! Your tablescapes are an inspiration!
Thanks so much, Michael Lee…have a wonderful weekend!
The flower basket quilt is a pattern I never see any more! It’s beautiful. My Grandmother made the same pattern for a family member shortly before she stopped being able to quilt and it is a treasured heirloom. A lovely table as always.
Cheryl, thanks so much. I love old quilts with their small stitches! Happy Weekend!
Pam, your new pergola is gorgeous! Love your vintage quilt and it is perfect for a fall tablecloth. I love the woodland transferware. Beautiful table indeed! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
