“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever”
Hebrews 13:8
Hello to my lovely readers! Usually on Monday, when you come over to our blog, you will find a new vignette, a travel post or maybe even some pretties from Pinterest. But this week, we are switching gears a little bit. Like you, every week for us holds different events…some small and seemingly insignificant, and some big and life-changing. We hold to the truth that our God is the same through both and we serve Him as Lord through them all. This past week, I had a week full of fun events and it only feels appropriate to share them with you, my readers. Today you won’t see any frills or fluff, just a week in my everyday living!
I was able to stretch my birthday out over a full weekend this year! Why only celebrate one day when you can celebrate three!? It began with a fun trip that Butch planned…an afternoon of shopping in Birmingham and dinner at one of our favorite restaurants!
And this is the one who makes EVERY day special! Our sweet Ella Mae was so cooperative as we re-created a photo of Seth when he was about this age! She is wearing his first Osh Kosh overalls that I have saved for thirty years and she seems to be enjoying his radio flyer! It was a perfect photo opportunity for this first time grandmother!
On Sunday morning, which was my actual birthday, I went to church as normal. But as I opened the door of my Ladies Bible Study Class, I was totally surprised with the sweetest birthday party! And I am usually not one that can be surprised! These precious friends had prepared a feast of a breakfast…ham and egg casserole, sausage balls, fresh fruit, an assortment of muffins, croissants…delicious and so much fun! One way to get ladies on time to Sunday School…have a party! The ladies pictured arrived early, several more came in after the photo was made. It set the tone for what would be the most perfect birthday!
After church, Seth, Allison, and Katy hosted lunch for our family. But first things first…a picture with my sweet girl!
Allison and Katy are excellent cooks…chicken and rice casserole, roasted sweet potatoes, green beans, watergate salad, rolls, and my most favorite cake-hummingbird!! Everyone was full and satisfied!
Seth, Allie, and our happy girl! We didn’t get pictures of my precious dad, brother, and sister-in-love. My sweet family eats Sunday lunch together every week…a family tradition that we have continued since my Mom passed away. We look forward to that time each week!
Have you ever seen a cuter Minnie Mouse! Allie did a wonderful job making her costume!
Do you remember that time I was a professor? Believe it or not, I was invited back, they apparently like tablescaping!
Katy was walking on both feet Sunday and now on Thursday she is on crutches with a new boot for an accessory! She ruptured a tendon walking across the parking lot at Trunk or Treat on Monday night…can you believe that? We are praying that she won’t have to have surgery. But she is a trooper and would not miss the class at the University of Alabama – Gadsden Center. I couldn’t do the blog without her. She is tech savvy, a fabulous photographer, and an excellent writer. We are blessed that God placed our chosen daughter into our family four years ago!
Now that is an expression!! I wonder what I was saying?! There is no telling! There were 20 ladies in our class and we had way too much fun!
Katy demonstrated how to fold a napkin into a Christmas tree. She is a talented DIY’er!
The ladies were so interested and asked lots of questions! I even gave them my cell phone number for all tablescaping emergencies during the upcoming holiday season! We invented the tablescape hotline!
Some of the participants took what they had learned last year and made beautiful tables for their family Thanksgiving! It was so neat to hear about their tables!
Friday morning three of my high school friends met for breakfast. The laughter may have disturbed everyone in Panera Bread, we couldn’t help ourselves…we were teenagers again!
After breakfast, I met Allie and the “little princess” for some shopping in our historic downtown. But this grandmother was on a mission…a Christmas dress and shoes for PJ’s granddaughter. Did you notice that I have a grandmother name? I am PJ…coming from my first and second name initials! When Butch and I started dating, that was what he called me and I have always loved it, so PJ it is! Ella Mae might make up her own name for me and if she does, it will be perfect, but for now I am PJ!
So there you go…my attempts of giving you a glimpse into my real everyday living. I hope you enjoyed! Depending on the feedback I get, this might be something you see more often!

How fun, Pam, and Happy Belated Birthday! I did not realize Katy helped you with your blog!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks Rita, I am not very tech savvy and she is outstanding…she has helped a few blogger friends of mine with tech issues. She is very talented and has written her own blog, but hasn’t blogged much in the past couple of years.

Love the name PJ. Sounds like a young grandmother name. Also the fact that every Sunday the family gathers together at the table. If more families did that there would be less devision in our country.

Alice, thank you my friend. We love being together as a family. Blessings~
