“Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.”
1 Samuel 12:24
Happy September friends…I can’t believe I am saying that! Didn’t we just celebrate Memorial Day?! Although the official start of Autumn isn’t for a few more weeks, September announces that the cooler temps and fall foliage are right around the corner! It is still in the 90’s here in the Deep South, so it is hard to think pumpkins and mums! I haven’t gotten into fall decorating yet, but I thought it would be fun to dip into the archives to see how I have decorated our home…inside and out… in years past. Have I mentioned that Autumn is my favorite season?!

Simmering my own special blend of spices, apples, and oranges brings that autumnal fragrance to the kitchen!
I love the glow of candles anytime, but especially when there is that little nip in the air
Using my small wooden wheelbarrow and loading it down with pumpkins, gourds, and fall vegetables for a display at our son and daughter-in-love’s wedding!
We sure miss our sweet Oreo who was always in the garden with us.
Our maple trees on a foggy October morning…they weren’t yet in their full autumn glory!
These pumpkins came up voluntarily last year! I loved displaying them on the split rail fence.
Our kitchen porch dressed with mums and pumpkins…
…our small courtyard beside the driveway
The 3-wheel bike with a load of pumpkins!
Our ginkgo always puts on a golden display!
Butterflies are in abundance during autumn.
Butch stacks pumpkins in a garden urn for a display on the kitchen porch.

Your photos will get everyone in the fall mood Pam! I did a little decorating this week, and can’t wait until the pumpkins and mums arrive- you can’t have too many pumpkins is my motto! Love the vignette from your son’s wedding especially!

Like you, I wonder where time has gone. Summer is such a short season in Maine that I can’t bear to think fall just yet though I’m seeing signs all around that it’s coming.
