“I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.”
Psalms 9:1
If you have been a follower of our blog for very long, you know that we love to pack our suitcase and set out on a new adventure! Whether across the US or across the world, we just love to travel! We have been very fortunate to travel to many places and see sights that were once only a dream! And with Christmas coming quickly upon us, I thought it would be neat to take a look at how some of my favorite places around the world celebrate! Each place you will see is one we have visited…but not all of them during the holidays. No matter the location, I think we can all agree that it is indeed the most wonderful time of the year. Let’s take a look at Christmas around our world!
New York City is definitely a fun place to visit at Christmas. I have made three trips to the “Big Apple” during the Holiday season and it never disappoints. Last year, Katy went and shared her trip here and here. The tree at Rockefeller Center is a NYC tradition!
The light show at Saks was spectacular! People would stop dead in their tracks to look up to watch!
And the window displays are always over the top!
Have you ever seen The Radio City Christmas Spectacular? If so, I am sure you would agree that it is a must-do while in NYC for Christmas!
One of the last scenes is a live nativity…complete with sheep, donkeys, and even a camel! They read scripture and performed “Hark the Herald Angels Sing!”…such a powerful moment! One of the lines in the show was “the greatest gift is not the one you go looking for, it’s the one that finds you”, and how true is that! The greatest gift ever given, Jesus, came to earth to seek and save us, the lost and sinful world.
Macy’s had a Peanuts theme last year!
I love the books in this “Yes Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus” themed window!
We recently visited Boston and took you on a walking tour of historic Beacon Hill. I can only imagine seeing the beautiful homes decorated for Christmas.
Savannah is pretty anytime, but I am sure that Christmas is spectacular.
Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC hosts an annual National Gingerbread House Competition. It is scheduled for today.
Christmas at the Biltmore in Asheville is definitely a trip to make. Butch and I were there a few years ago and saw the estate dressed for the season and enjoyed the evening candlelight tour.
The library at the Biltmore
We have been to the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville during the holiday season…the Christmas decorations are stunning!
“I’ll be somewhere down in Texas”
The annual delivery of the Christmas tree to the White House
The Plaza at Santa Fe, New Mexico
Triple Creek Ranch in Darby, MT…I would love to go during Christmas!
Pikes Place Market in Seattle would be a great shopping destination for your Christmas presents!
A winter beach in California
The hustle and bustle of London
Paris is always a good idea!
The Palace of Versailles
The Christmas Market in Munich, Germany
Tallin, Estonia hosts a Christmas Market. It was a city that we so enjoyed.
Liverpool, England
The Cradle of the Renaissance, Florence, Italy
Christmas lights in Avignon in the region of Provence
Dublin, Ireland
We visited Edinburgh Castle in Scotland last year.
Christmas in our Northeast Alabama city
Kids of all ages love Santa Claus!
Butch cuts fresh greenery for our home in the Appalachian Foothills, it is always the best place and the only place we want to spend Christmas!
Friends, I am curious…where do you spend Christmas?
I love to read your comments!

What a fabulously fun post, Pam. I love Christmas so much! And what a treat to see so many wonderful places — all those lights! I’m at a loss to choose which of your wonderful photos I loved most! We always spend Christmas here in Michigan. There’s no place like home for the holidays!

Been to some of these places around Christmas time Pam – but all of them look incredible! We saw the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and it was spectacular – that nativity scene I will never forget!

I loved looking at all those gorgeous photos. The only one I have seen at Christmas is New York. My favorite part of living in Maryland for 6 years was taking the train to New York. We saw the Christmas show at Rockefeller Center several times. We’ve been in Florida since1995, so no more winter like weather at Christmas. But you can’t tell from the inside of my house!! I love tradition and so do my grandchildren.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Oh, Nancy I know your home is beautifully dressed for Christmas…I too love tradition. Happy Thanksgiving and blessings to you and your family!

Love spending Christmas anywhere my family is. We are spread out and try to get together at someone’s house every few years. Loved this tour.

Wow, this reminds me of some of the beautiful places I have been able to see during the holidays including NYC and the Christmas markets in Germany. In my neighborhood, I am fortunate to visit the hotels of Walt Disney World which are always dressed to the nines. What a nice collection of beautiful holiday places! Thanks for sharing!

Chloe, I have always wanted to visit the Christmas Markets!

Watching cities dress for Christmas is very interesting because there is the hallmark of their personality.
What you show us is beautiful and fun and I really liked it … it’s great !!. In Europe in general, it is more austere, more intimate, but endearing and beautiful too, especially in central Europe: Germany, Austria, I could say that it is magic.
Beautiful pictures thank you friend

Enviando amor y abrazos, dulce amigo!
Hi Dolores, it is so good to hear from you. I would love to visit the Christmas markets in Europe. I love the Christmas season, celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior is the reason for the season. I would love to see a photo of your new grandson. Sending love and hugs, sweet friend!
