“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
Galatians 2:20
Another beautiful Weiss Lake sunrise captured by Katy !
The purple passion flower, or maypop as it’s commonly known, has some medicinal value and butterflies love it too!
Native Americans had unique ways to alter the growth of certain trees to serve as trail markers. Like our road signs, these served to guide travelers along a route. This is possibly one such marker, located near The Swag in North Carolina!
Finding this butterfly on milkweed made us automatically think it must be a Monarch but we are not so sure. Maybe some of our experts can render an opinion and help us out on identification?
Our patriotic girls enjoying the Fourth and their matching shirts!
A Mimosa up close and personal almost looks like a fireworks display!
Pork chop with tomato chutney aioli, Venetian spinach, roasted potatoes, and polenta!
The rustic swing on the porch of our cabin at The Swag. We just need a little more time to sit on it!
A vegetable, herb, and flower garden that makes farm to table cover a distance of about 100 yards !
Appalachian Digital Media gives us a birds eye view of a wonderful sunset in northeast Alabama ! River bottom farm land and the southern end of the Appalachians are seeing the close of another typical summer day.

Glorious photos Pam & Butch! I especially love the sunrise that Katy captured. Your butterfly on the milkweed is a Gulf fritillary. Happy Sunday. ♥
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks Mary for the identification, Butch thought it was a Gulf fritillary! Enjoy your day❤️

Oh, Pam – these photos are glorious. From beginning to end. How I enjoy Sunday mornings with you.
My favorites are those dear girls and the sunset photos. So beautiful. Also enjoyed the close up of the Mimosa. I had never thought about it, but they do remind one of fireworks. My grandmother had a huge Mimosa in her yard in Mississippi. They do love the south. Again, all so beautiful.
Dear Friend, wishing you and yours a most beautiful day and week ahead.❤
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Sandra! Wishing you a most beauty-filled day!❤️

My Sunday treat observing the Sabbath with you and yours. I had the Grands for the holiday week and spent time at Carnton Plantation and other sites relative to the Battle of Franklin, TN
where they learned the price that is paid for the freedoms we celebrate on the Fourth. How blessed we are to live in this land of the free and home of the brave. Your patriotic girls are
right on into the spirit of the day…adorable. Bless you all, dear Pam.

Mary, your email address did not show up, but I am assuming this is your comment just by what you said. I am so glad your Grands spent the week with you. It sounds like you had a good time and time well spent learning about our freedom. Bless you and wishing you a wonderful week.

I agree with Mary, it is a gulf fritillary. The purple passion flower is the gulf fritillary host plant. Milkweed is host plant for monarchs but all butterflies enjoy nectaring on milkweed just don’t lay their eggs on milkweed. Only monarchs lay their eggs on milkweed.
Love the girls matching outfits. So sweet.
Sunrise and sunset pics are gorgeous.
Have a wonderful week. The heat index is very high this week.

Lovely photos. What a glorious time you must be having The mimosa reminds me of growing up with a huge mimosa in our backyard. Many an hour spent playing with that old tree. Love making mimosa hats as well. Looks like a beautiful place to spend the holiday!!

That is so amazing about that tree! It reminded me of my Daddy and what he used to tell me when I was little. He said a tree would grow in whatever direction its young twig was bent and how it was necessary to correct a child’s errant behavior and “straighten” behavior when it was bending in the wrong direction. Oh, it helped me to understand and has remained with me all throughout life! As a child is taught during those young, formative years, so it is likely to grow and remain. Speaking of young children, those precious grandgirls of yours look so adorable in their little patriotic shirts! It is so obvious how Godly and patriotic they are being raised! I know they bring so much sunshine into your lives. May the Lord bless all of you, sweet friend!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear Cheryl. Beautiful lesson that your daddy taught you and so true. Blessings sweet friend!

Thanks Pam…for the inspiration today. I so appreciate God’s beauty in your beautiful photos and nature itself. The girls are so precious, the tree story is a picturesque reminder of days gone by…and butterflies are special to me. I am having a health issue that is completely in God’s hands….His will be done. Thanks for all the beauty you send to us in your posts. Blessings always
