“Those who live at the ends of the earth stand in awe of your wonders. From where the sun rises to where it sets, you inspire shouts of joy.”
Psalms 65:8
Hello dear readers. It has been a week of heavy rain and dreary skies with a forecast of colder weather for the weekend. By late February I do get a little anxious for spring, how about you?
Our long-time readers know we typically share a sunset at the end of our Simple Southern Sunday posts. We have received a lot of comments about them over the past 5+ years. I decided to devote an entire post to fifteen of my personal favorites. One thing for certain…no two are alike. Enjoy God’s artistry as only He can paint a sunset!
“My favorite color is sunset.”

Butch and I took a trip in 2013 to Venice, the Greek Isles, and Istanbul in celebration of our fortieth anniversary. As we were sailing from Crete, we were overwhelmed by the beauty of this amazing sunset!
What a welcomed sunset at Maho Beach on St. Maarten. The day before we had experienced a tropical storm with sustained winds of 45-50 mph for over twelve hours. What a difference a day can make!
As parents, we are so proud of our son’s hard work in starting his own digital media business a few years ago. We love including some of his photography like this gorgeous sunset capture in Mobile, AL!
Sunset over Appalachian Foothills’ farmland!
A recent sunset over our pasture!
A favorite sunset captured by our sweet, Katy!
We live in an area that has an abundance of lakes, rivers, and streams. Most of our sunset pics through the years where water is present were taken within 20 miles of home!
“There is nothing more musical than a sunset”.
-Claude Debussy
Sometimes the sky seems to be wishing us a good evening!
Sunset over Grayton Beach, FL!
“Sunsets are one thing in life that won’t wait.”
-Unknown
The above photo and this one were both taken at the same spot on Lake Gadsden. This last photo was taken on Christmas Eve 2019 and it is the most splendid sunset that I have ever seen. As I was taking photos with my Iphone, it was constantly changing. I must have taken fifty photographs and they are all slightly different.
“Enjoy the beauty of a sunset, nature’s farewell kiss for the night.”
-Sharon Rene
Thank you for your visits and comments they make my day. Wishing you all a delightful weekend.

Each photo is glorious. Our mighty God is the master painter. I love each sunset. They are truly a gift to enjoy and if I could I would love to have a home set in such a way that I could enjoy both sunrise and sunset.

Rick often says, as I go to snap yet another up-north sunset, “Don’t you have enough of those?” “But they are all different,” I say. And see? I’m right! These are all different — and stunning.

Dear friend, I thank you very much that you have shown this collection of images of sunsets. I could not say which one is better than another … all are very beautiful and some very original for their color. I really like Katy’s photo, it’s original and her color is beautiful and relaxed.
Thank you for showing a beauty that is always so pleasant.

Oh, WOW! Such splendor, it is truly hard for me to take it in! I thought the pink and purple was my favorite, then I got down to the end photo and, oh, my! I can see why it is your favorite. You know I never thought of how each and every sunset is different! It is just one more demonstation of the awesome power of our great God.
