Hello sweet friends! We have been enjoying beautiful fall weather for the past several days, and it has been glorious!
“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”
Proverbs 17:22
If you are ready for some fun and creativity, you have come to the right place. I am excited to join eighteen talented table stylists for a Halloween Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by my lovely friend Rita, from Panoply.
It is a “no tricks, only treats” patio party!
If you are a long-time reader you know about my three grandchildren, two girls ages five and two and our baby boy age five months. Queen EM and Princess EK were the inspiration for the table. Prince WL doesn’t really care about parties! My plan was to decorate and set the table with lots of fun food that my granddaughters would absolutely love! I was hoping to take some cute photos of them (In case you haven’t noticed, I do like to share them). As you know, the best-laid plans often go awry. First the girls were both sick, then we had days and days of rain, and by the time the rain stopped, they were leaving for a weekend at the beach. Queen EM said I would have to do it again, and guess what, I am sure I will!
When I think of Halloween, I will always think of orange and black. I know there are many options, but I guess I am a traditionalist, even for Halloween!
You will find the links for all the creative ladies provided at the bottom of this post.
I find that there is not much neutral ground when it comes to candy corn…you either love it or hate it. I actually like it and especially in a glass canister where it looks fun and festive!
This cute tray is perfect for petite cupcakes. Little girls love cupcakes and so do big girls!
I don’t have much Halloween decor in my stash because I have never been much of a fan. Shh…don’t tell anyone. This is only the second time I have participated in a Halloween Tablescape Blog Hop. I had the black spiderweb tablecloth, melamine plates that I wasn’t crazy about, and some orange/black checked napkins. So I was on a mission to find cute, but not spooky decor. I was about to give up when I found a set of four salad plates with two different scenes at a very reasonable price.
So now I had a plan. The orange dinner plates have been used for many autumn tablescapes and they worked perfectly with the salad plates as did the chargers.
My Renaissance Man hung some cute fans from the pergola! They are still hanging three days later. I think they are keeping the birds away from the chairs, their favorite spot to perch and…well you know what they do!
A black spider holds each checked napkin.
Twig flatware seemed to be the best choice for a Halloween table!
A trick or treat banner joined the festivities!
Our girls love cheese and Goldfish, and so does their PJ!
A Jack-o’-lantern finial…
…cheese puffs (be cautious of the spider) and Sunkist in vintage milk glass add to the party fun!
“There is a child in everyone of us who is still a trick-or-treater looking for a brightly lit front porch.”
-Robert Brault
A hand-carved Jill-o’-lantern serves as the centerpiece. Jill looks fetching wearing her orange and black boa! Certainly not a professional carving, but the girls won’t notice!
Who doesn’t love a salty and sweet mix…popcorn, pretzels, Mellowcreme Autumn Mix, candy corn, and M&M’s.
As the sun goes down, the garden lights provide the perfect ambiance.
Jill has lost most of her teeth, one fell out as she was placed on the table. The vintage Schwinn has a basket full of pumpkins that might be used for more carving fun!

So festive and fun Pam! Love your paper fans, banner, adorable plates, milk glasses with Sunkist, treats and Jill-o’-lantern! Jill’s smile is a testament to what too much candy corn will do. ‘-) I know your grandgirls were sorry to miss the party but I’m sure you’ll make it up to them. The lights and your bicycle full of pumpkins in the background are so festive! Happy Tuesday ♥
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Mary. EM will be planning a party for the Sunshine Cottage and I will let her decorate. She has strong opinions like her PJ. I gave them all the paper fans and they were excited!
Kari says
As usual Pam, you have managed to come up with yet another lovely table. I love the view of your blue door and bike! II know you were disappointed the girls were not able to be there…half the fun is their excitement at all your Halloween touches. We are on the same page when it comes to ‘scarey’ versus ‘Happy’ and apparently table coverings! The paper lanterns are a nice addition; good job RM! We don’t get any trick or treaters anymore and I don’t imagine you do either. We do have a “trunk & Treat Harvest” gathering at church so I always donate candy to that event.
Hugs and Blessings my sweet friend
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you, Kari. I will recreate this for the girls and let them help decorate. Most churches have events in our city, so there aren’t many children out. Hugs to you, my friend!
Debbie J says
Thanks for sharing your fun table! I have the ladies over for Bunco Wednesday night so this gives me lots of inspiration.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Debbie. I am so glad you got some ideas!
Ann at Corner of Plaid and Paisley says
Pam! So beautiful!! Just love the setting in your garden. You had me at Jill’s boa and the elegantly served cheese puffs. Who knew cheese puffs could looks so pretty? Your table looks happy and such a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the fun side of Halloween. It is always such a pleasure to hop with you!! I hope you have a sweet Halloween 🎃
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Ann. For me, Halloween is about the food. Well maybe that is true about most holidays 😂
the Painted Apron says
Oh Pam, I love your table! The carved smiling Jill pumpkin welcomes you to come and enjoy the buffet of treats on the table and the hanging fans look fabulous! Love your spider web cloth and the spider on the cheese ball container, it’s all so festive and happy with your beautiful garden in the background. You must have the girls over for a Halloween tea party so they can enjoy your fun Halloween decorations and treats!
Jenna
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Jenna. EM said she would plan the party for the Sunshine Cottage. It should be fun, she loves to party!
Ricki Treleaven says
Pam, there is so much to love…..I think my favorite are the fans hanging from the pergola. They are FANtastic! (See what I did there?) I also love how the spider web tablecloth looks over the white one: the edge is really cool looking. I’m happy to have found a fellow candy corn lover, LOL! I like the other orange snacks on your table, too. The frou frou Jack o’ Lantern with his feather hat made me giggle. 😀
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Ricki Jill. I am amazed that I am not the only one who loves candy corn. Happy you giggled 😀
Shannon@Belle Bleu Interiors says
Pam, your table is absolutely precious! I love all the sweet details from the darling plates to Jill. All of the treats look so yummy, too. I know those adorable girls are going to have so much fun! This morning, you brought back so many wonderful childhood memories. I loved Halloween as a child. My daddy would take me trick or treating, and we would make a stop at one of grandparent’s house, who were only a couple of blocks away, They always had homemade caramel apples. After my pail was full of candy, we would then take off for my other grandmother’s house for a Halloween party with all my cousins. Oh, what fun memories I have! Thanks for sharing your sweet table with us. Enjoy your day, my dear friend!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Shannon. I missed you hopping with us. I loved reading your sweet memories and thank you for sharing them!
Clara says
Pam, I love your Halloween table! It’s adorable! I hate the children missed it but it will be fun to recreate for those sweethearts. Your trick or treat sign is a favorite and the hanging fans are so festive. Your banner and finial are so cute and those plates are perfect! The girls are going to love all the treats. The petite cupcakes on the oblong platter are making me crave something sweet. That’s a lovely serving dish. Your Halloween table is indeed a treat! Thanks for sharing it with us. Happy Tuesday! Clara❤️🎃
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Clara. The girls were back home yesterday and they came for leftover treats. I have them the fans and they loved playing with them 🎃
Sandra at Maison De Jardin says
Good morning, Pam. I love your table, even though I am not much for Halloween either. I also adore candy corn. I would be very happy enjoying all the goodies at your festive table. Have a great week!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Sandra. I am glad there are others who enjoy candy corn!
Cheryl says
Oh, my goodness! It is just all so beautiful! Not spooky at all, but so very festive and warmhearted and inviting! I know those girls just have such a ball with you all and you make life so sweet and pleasant for them growing up. I love the Robert Brault quote. Isn’t that so true? I think we all long for that our whole lives. God bless you, sweet friend.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Cheryl. It is fun to decorate for the girls!
Alycia Nichols says
Queen EM is absolutely correct: You will HAVE TO do this again for them to enjoy! Oh, my!!! Not to take away from the actual goodies on the table, but what a “visual treat” to behold!!! Wow! I’m a traditionalist, too, so orange and black sit very well with me. It’s the WAY you have everything so beautifully styled here. And the choices you made for the treats…perfect! The dainty little cupcakes are just right for a child’s hands or the greedy big ones of a hungry old witch like me! I’m in your camp on the candy corn (LOVE IT, but don’t eat it much anymore), and the cheese balls…get OUTTA HERE with that! So fun!!! Your secret is safe with me about the Halloween decor. I just gave away a TON of it to our kids for their children. I have precious little left to work with…and that’s OK by me. You are talented enough to put something together – LIKE THIS – without a truckload of specifically Halloween-designated stuff! This is a beautifully designed setting that ANYONE would love to be a part of!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Alycia, your comments are always so sweet and warm my heart! Yay, another fan of candy corn! Thanks for keeping my secret!
Debbee says
Ditto what Alycia said — you must do a repeat (and can I come too?)! Perfect not only for your grandkids but for children of all ages. I love how you used orange color and Halloween candies to do double duty as festive table decor. The fans from the pergola and Edison bulbs add a vintage vibe to the setting I particular like. My mom always made our costumes (and later together we made my sons’) and I have so many happy, nostalgic memories of Halloween. Looking like you’ll be making those kind of treasured memories for your grandchildren too.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Debbie for your sweet comments. Yes, I love making memories with the gramds!
mhhwarmcozy says
The kid in me would love to sit down at your spooky cute table Pam. I’ve always loved the silly sweet side of Halloween and you captured that with your table, huge jars of candy and happy pumpkin carving!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
I think we are all kids when it comes to holidays! Thank you Rachelle,
Patti @ Pandora's Box says
This is just darling for your granddaughters – they must love all the treats (and I love how you have them displayed). AND CANDY CORN – who doesn’t love it once a year?? This is certainly a treat for the eyes with all the orange and black! Well done!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Yay, another one that likes candy corn! Thank you Patti!

Roxanne Bernard says
Pam, add me to the candy corn group! Love that stuff!! What an absolutely adorable, fun setting you created. I love the fans especially. It’s too bad the girls missed it, but they sure looked like they were having fun at the beach. Hope you are drying out, we got 12” of rain last week!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Yay, another candy corn friend. Roxanne, I have never seen so much rain. There was major flooding and loss of life. So sad!
The girls came home yesterday and they came to me see as soon as they could because they knew there might be treats. They enjoyed themselves and I gave them all of the paper fans. They loved it. Queen EM is planning our Halloween party. Thinking of you and John 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Roxanne Bernard says
Thank you dear friend
Linda Primmer says
Very fun table. I am sure the girls will love it. The hanging fans are so pretty and flair to your table theme. Fun food, treats and more for anyone fancy. The carved pumpkin is adorable. Sweet memories for your grands in the making. Always a pleasure to hop along with you.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Linda. As you know, we will do anything for the grands!
Sarah says
Pam, your table is adorable, and of course your littles will love it. I have my little great nieces that I enjoy sharing holiday fun with. Just packed up their Halloween bags and sent them yesterday. They lead a busy schedule these days, so I thought I’d send things early so they can enjoy them ahead of Halloween.
Thanks for sharing these cute ideas. Just for the record, I’m a life long fan of candy corn!
Happy Halloween!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Yay, another fan of candy corn. Thank you Sarah…I know the great nieces love all that you send them!
Sandra @ Dinner at Eight says
Pam, all little girls (and boys!) would happily dive into your treats! Each one more colorful than the last! Your table is festive, cute and definitely hits all the right Halloween buttons for fun. Each detail is special, and I love that all the jack o’ lanterns are smiling, even the skulls on the pail. Not sure about the cats and spiders, though, lol. Have a happy Halloween!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much Sandra. It was loads of fun to create!
marmeladegypsy says
Hopefully they will be well soon and you can recreate that adorable table for them. I love the festive candy colors and your plates are just adorable. You can tell what love and joy went into it!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Jeanie…all about the grands!
Nancy Brantley says
I love candy corn too…you set a pretty table. I don’t like Halloween but yours is friendly.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Nancy. There are more people that like candy corn than I realized!
Rita C. says
You know what I love best about this, Pam? You are embracing a holiday you don’t traditionally care much for (I’m in your camp) simply because of your grands (well, and this blog hop, thank you!). This is 100% kid-friendly. I love the plates you found, and all the treats. Mr P and I would absolutely love this as our next meal, lol, and I’m sure my Birdie will be joining us in the future. Kids LOVE Halloween. Tell RM he really elevated the look with those cool paper fans (and keeping the birds away – bonus!). And hey, Jill fits right in, missing tooth and all. Thank you for sharing a fun table and great ideas with us, Pam.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Yes, you are correct. The only reasons are the grands and the blog hop. The girls loved the popcorn mix and said I needed to make more! Thank you for all you do to make the hop a success!
creationsbycindyphotography.blogspot.com says
Love, love, love! Girl, it’s all for the grands! LOL! I love the cute paper fans. Just made that scene so adorable. Hope you are enjoying your week. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Yes, Cindy…all about the grands!
Bonnie Morgan says
How cute your Halloween table decorations are. Love the swirling fans hung from the pergola. Very festive. I know the kids eyes lite up at the sight of the candy and pretty colors and patterns.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Bonnie. It was a fun table to do!
Maryleigh says
Love the Halloween Decor! October’s playfulness thrives on all things BOO! Especially love those fans hanging from the tree!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you Maryleigh. Happy October!
Nancy says
Adorable! What fun the girls will have! The fans hanging was an added bonus! And Jill’s smile makes everything so much sweeter!
Happy Halloween!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Jill definitely has an almost toothless grin! Thank you Nancy!
Linda says
Such a fun Halloween setting…..love all the orange and blacks. And your garden looks so beautiful and dreamy in the background! Can I ask where you got those adorable old fashioned salad plates? Just love them!
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Linda! The salad plates came in a set of four at TJ Maxx. Hope that helps.
Heritage Hall says
For not being a big Halloween fan, you certainly set the perfect table and mood for the occasion. What a gift you have for
balance… The plates are adorable and I get first dibs on that finial… If we kids-at-heart followers are invited, you will not have to worry about all those delectable treats going to waste. Mr. Wonderful did great work topping it all off with those whirly wheels . How well you dispelled the gloomy aspects and made it all so bright and happy. Jill’s perky presence is a delightful
centerpiece in the theme. Is it not interesting that like Christmas, Halloween is so childhood memory-laden… I recall those spooky nights of holding onto an adult hand while big brother was adventurous and brave in the doorbell ringing dept. The movie “Meet Me in St. Louis” had a great sequence recreating the old time Halloween experience…..
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thank you dear one and you are always invited. The girls came when they returned from the beach and they enjoyed all of the treats. EM is planning a party in the Sunshine Cottage. It should be fun, the girl loves to party!
Marsha says
Oh Pam, I wish I could attend your Halloween Garden Party. So cute! And, yes, I love the orange and black colors too, even though I do create tables with different colors for Halloween. I love the salad plates and your use of a real carved jack o lantern for your centerpiece. The treats make the table even more special with the mix of salty sweet. (I am such a fan of salty sweet.) Oh my…….you have me so excited for Halloween and all of the treats. Happy Halloween.
Pam @ Everyday Living says
Thanks so much, Marsha. I am also a fan of salty sweet!
Kim says
Oh Pam, this is so adorable. Those plates are so cute! And all that candy so beautifully displayed. I’m so sorry to hear that the plans for having the little girls over didn’t work out. Hopefully you’ll be able to set it over and enjoy it in the Sunshine Cottage. Happy Halloween to you and your family!
Lynne says
Halloween is all about the “treats”. Love that this was an outside table setting. The ambience was great.
Lynne, Thrifting Wonderland
Rebecca says
Pam, you really nailed the kid friendly table…my 8 year old daughter would just love the treats and decor that you chose! I know your granddaughters will have lots of fun when they are able to come over again. Kids, of course, prefer the traditional orange and black colors. I’m also a big fan of candy corn, and I’d feel like a kid again sitting at your table snacking on cheese puffs and sipping Sunkist. I love how you set the table outside with the backdrop of the vintage bicycle and your lovely garden. It’s always a pleasure hopping with you. Happy Halloween!
Penny at Enjoying The Simple Things says

I love the salad plates, and your smiling jack-o-lantern really tickled my funny bone! Such a pleasure to join you on this blog hop Pam!!
