It was great fun and a blessing to celebrate WL’s first birthday last week!

Our darling blue-eyed boy has brought so much joy into our family! He loves to smile, but is quite busy. He applies his own version of the “whistle while you work” idea by smiling while he plays!
Where did that year go?!! We were not allowed to visit the hospital (due to Covid) but as soon as he arrived home we were so excited to meet him!
I didn’t take many photos at his party, just lived in the moment. His daddy, the professional, took plenty of video. WL will eat anything you give him, unlike his sisters. This was his first taste of cake and you can see he was quite thrilled!
I have been able to spend precious time with all three of our grandchildren. When their mommy returned to teaching in January, I began keeping EK and WL on Mondays and Tuesdays. Since they live only a golf cart ride away, I go to their house where it is child proof and they have plenty of toys! Yes, keeping up with a three year old and a lively, strong, one year old boy is very tiring. But, I wouldn’t trade the opportunity for anything!
Our boy, just like his daddy and his Da, loves the outdoors. Give him some dirt or sand and he is very happy!
He loves his sisters and they sure love him. Sometimes their expressions of affection for little brother are quite aggressive, as in a very big, tight hug or getting him in a headlock for example. He knows how to be in survival mode and has toughened to all this attention…and still comes away smiling!

My cough is slowly disappearing (praise God!) and this afternoon I’m going to go volunteer with my precious group.
