Welcome friends! As always, I am so thrilled you are here!
“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”
John 15:12 (ESV)
It is the third Tuesday of the month which means it is an edition of Tea on Tuesdays! Come in from the cold and join me in the cozy Sunshine Cottage for a delicious hot tea and sweets!
Mary and I are joined by our special guest, Kitty from Kitty’s Kozy Kitchen! Kitty is one of the sweetest bloggers…if you don’t already follow her, I know you would enjoy her lovely teatimes, delicious recipes, and her beautiful family. You will find Mary’s and Kitty’s links at the bottom of this post.
I am sure you have already guessed by now that our common theme is Valentine’s Day! Eileen’s Reserve by New Anchor teapot with its charming pink and white roses and gingham is a favorite for Valentine’s! It rests upon Bordallo Pinheiro cabbageware salad plates!
Macarons are perfect small bites with a cup of tea. Strawberry, matcha, and amaretti flavors are served on a pink heart plate! I love desserts of any kind! I have often said that I have never met a dessert that I didn’t like. I wanted a different type of dessert for today’s tea. My first time to eat real Italian cannoli was 2003 when I visited Italy. My second memory of iconic cannoli was autumn of 2009 when Butch and I took a train trip through the Canadian Rockies. Our final stop was Calgary and the last night of our trip we found a wonderful Italian restaurant near our hotel! It was truly authentic Italian and the cannoli was perfection. With those memories on my mind, I began searching cannoli recipes. I found a recipe that did not consist of the tube-shaped fried pastry dough, but a graham cracker crust with more of a cheesecake filling with chocolate chips and pistachios. It was delicious and given rave reviews by RM. However, I am going to try a more traditional cannoli recipe in the future and if it is successful will share it!
I am not sure where I found this pretty heart tin. Of course, it was originally filled with chocolates. I love its reference to I Corinthians 13 verse 4.
The table is set for two with a sweet friend in mind that might join me. Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to celebrate friendship!
Long-time readers know that I love a mix of patterns which is obvious on my table. The teacups are Grace Teaware. I am serving a delicious Cardamom Chai tea, a gift from Mary!
Red Royal Stafford ‘Asiatic Pheasant’ dinner plate, heart-shaped plate from TJ Maxx several years ago, and a Bavaria pierced bread and butter plate complete the pink and red plate stack.
A double-crimped Hobnail Cranberry vase (Opalescent) by Fenton was used to hold spray roses and baby’s breath, a small and simple arrangement!
“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.”
1 Corinthians 13:4-6 (ESV)
I wanted to include this vintage Napcoware Valentine Mailman in memory of my sweet Daddy!
The sunlight provides dancing shadows across the table!
“A true friend knows the song in your heart, and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.”
~C.S. Lewis
The April Cornell tablecloth has been used on several Valentine’s tables. If you missed my round-up of Thirteen Valentine’s Tablescapes & Centerpieces last week, you can see it here.

Pam, I’d love to join you at your beautiful tea table on a cold January morning! Your Sunshine Cottage is living up to its name with the cheery rays of sunshine on your table. Your April Cornell tablecloth is one of my favorites of yours with its lovely rose border…perfect for your Eileen’s Reserve teapot and pretty floral plates! Your cannolis in bar-form look irresistible and a perfect treat to pair with your cardamom chai tea. I love your sweet Napcoware Valentine Mailman in honor of your dear dad too. 💌 As always, it’s a treat to share tea with you on our Tuesdays. I hope you’re staying warm and cozy. 💕☕
Thank you, Mary. It is always a pleasure to share tea with you. We are predicted to have freezing rain on Saturday night and the weather guy seems real sure about. He also said we could have wide spread power outages. Trying to work on the blog hop and finish before Saturday! Stay warm❤️
That little mailman captured my heart. And Butch’s story from Sunday. I know I have read it before but gosh, it takes your breath away. Thank God kept him safe.
Thank you Ruthie. Your comments warm my heart!
Your Valentine tea is so pretty, Pam. I love the table decor and your use of the china. I’m remembering you save your Valentines from Butch and look at them regularly and I think that is just magical. Hope today is a good one for you.
Thank you, Jeanie. You have a great memory…I do save our cards and read several last night. It was a good day and I hope yours was as well!
Such a sweet table, and your photographs with the play of sunlight are wonderful.
Thank you Carole!
If ever I have the opportunity to share tea with you as a friend, I would choose this one! I love the quietude of January, after all the holidays, and that sunlight coming through the Sunshine Cottage window in wintertime is just mesmerizing to me, Pam. Your dessert looks absolutely delicious! The tea ware choices and flowers are beautifully inviting to sit and linger for tea on Tuesday. ❤️
Rita, I would love for you to share tea with me. If only we lived closer! Thank you my friend!
Dancing shadows! What a perfect way to describe the sunlight at the Sunshine Cottage Pam. They make your table not only inviting but magical. I adore the sun, what a wonderful gift from God. The sweet little mailman honoring your Daddy is so special. I am so glad you included him on your table. Your cannoli dessert sounds wonderful and I am sure your recuperating RM enjoyed every bite. Recipe please. Your choice of flowers makes this tea time a perfect Valentine’s Day tea for two. How romantic. Thanks you sharing. Hugs 🥰❤️🙏🏻
Thank you Kari. I will email the recipe to you! ❤️
I love your last picture of the table in the window. The full sunshine coming through the windows makes everything perfect. Of course having your Valentine at the table makes everything alright. I don’t know if he will be healed enough to sit at your very much loved Valentine table. Hope so❣️
Thank you sweet Alice! My Valentine was able to walk out to the cottage with the aid of his walker and sit for a few minutes today❤️
Oh Pam, I would be happy to be a friend at your pretty Valentine Tea in the Sunshine Cottage! We are true sweets partners and we could ooh and ahh over your treats as we’re sipping that delicious tea from our friend Mary. I so love your mix and match of patterns and your sweet arrangement in that adorable hobnail vase. Of course the darling figurine captures my sentimental heart. Thank you for including me, as I’m so honored. ❤️
Kitty, it would be wonderful if you could join me for tea. Thank you for your sweet comments❤️
Pam, what a delightful table on such a cold morning! I am throughly entranced with the sweet mailman and your beautiful vase. Wish I was the lucky friend to be seated at your tea! The cannoli looks delicious. I’m sure it had some healing quality for Butch. We lived in NJ for 2 years as newlyweds while John worked in Manhattan. Sometimes we would go into the city and eat in Little Italy. Cannoli was always my dessert!
Thank you, Roxanne for your sweet comments. Butch did love this version of cannoli. Thanks for sharing that memory. Butch and I had a delicious pizza in Little Italy several years ago!
I love your sun-dappled photos. That Bavaria pierced bread and butter plate is stunning!
You are so sweet and thank you Pattie!
Kitty is the sweetest. Your table is gorgeous. Love the little tea pot napkin rings. Hope Butch is getting stronger and better each day. Hugs. Kris
Thank you, Kris. Butch is doing PT 3 times a week and doing it at home on the other days❤️
Oh, Pam. This is beyond precious to me. I love everything about your settings. The mailman, particularly, touched my heart. From the precious verses to the yummy canoli dessert!
The sunlight dancing across the beautiful flowers, tea, dishes, and desserts give me sweet hope, precious friend!
I love the cranberry vase–the simplicity you mentioned makes it perfect! I love how you arrange patterns and make sure that the HEART of it all is the centerpiece–YOU.
I love you, dearly.
PS–it’s been a whirlwind of sweet events since we last emailed. All is going well. Just very busy and my precious parents have needed attention. My “surrendering” to the Holy Spirit and HIS plans each day has given me peace. My endocrinologist appt went very well and all other things are going as planned and smoothly. We have all fought difference viruses and such–but with Christ, all is well!
I love you and pray for you all daily, dear friend! 💚❣️❤️❣️❣️❣️🙏🏻🙏🏻🎶🎶🎶
Thank you Karla for your precious comments! I love you dearly and you are always in my prayers. I do want to talk soon and catch up on all of your happenings! ❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️
You’re welcome, Pam ❤️ yes, it seems as though the weather may keep me home this weekend? 🙏❤️🙏
Pam, a delightful way to enjoy a Valentine table with a comforting cup of tea and delicious treats. Sunshine Cottage is so pretty, makes for a perfect setting to enjoy with family or friends.mthe kittke mailman is adorable and a special nod to your dear daddy.
Thank you Linda for your sweet comments. I am looking forward to your table next week!
Oh how lovely Pam, your tea table is Valentine’s perfection. You certainly have beautiful collectibles perfect for this setting. I’ve always loved using red and pink so I am taking notes here. I love seeing your cottage all dressed up for holidays as well, always so inspiring. Jim and I discovered different cannoli while in Italy but I can’t say I’m a fan of trying to make them. Lovely flowers, sweetest little tin and the dessert, fabulous! Happy Valentine’s Day Pam and Butch.
Emily, you are so sweet! I love pink and red for Valentine’s. Happy Valentine’s Day to you and Jim ❤️
Everything about you tea table is perfect – so lovely and inviting. Your sweet plate stack, teapot, and vase are so beautiful. And your napkins are gorgeous – I had to zoom in on them to see how very pretty they are – perfect with your April Cornell tablecloth. And I love, love the C.S.Lewis quote. Thank you for brightening my morning!
Thank you Nancy for your sweet comments.I also love the C.S. Lewis quote! Have a wonderful week!
Wow, love is brewing at your house! Elegance meets affection in your many tablescapes, thanks for sharing!
Mary, your words are always lovely!
Oh how I am enjoying this Valentine’s Tea Table❣️ Everything is so charming…the figurine of the sweet postman in memory of your dear daddy is precious.❤️ I love the Bavarian pierced bread and butter plate and appreciate you sharing it’s name, as it will help me to have a name in my searching to come❣️ You always share the most thoughtful photos, scriptures and quotes, thank you❣️
It’s been awhile since I’ve seen Baby’s breath, what a sweet reminder, and all the roses, fresh or textile or tin were so fun to find🌹
Sipping cardamom tea and enjoying those marvelous sweets sounds like such a delightful time. 🩷🫖❤️
Sue as always your comments are heartwarming! Thank you for faithfully following! Wishing you a warm and cozy week❤️
Pam, nothing shines quiet like the rays of sunlight dancing across a table. Your setting is perfection, and on this cold Tuesday morning, I savor every moment of this delightful teatime. Your April Cornell linen, the dapper Napcoware Valentine Mailman, and each of the tasty treats entice me all the more. The Sunshine Cottage is such a cozy spot!
Happy January and looking forward to Valentine’s!
Thank you Sarah. You are always so kind. I am looking forward to your table next week!
Pam, one more thing. 1 Corinthians 13:4-6 has always been a favorite scripture! My precious sister kept these words printed out and posted above her kitchen sink. There they reminded her, her four children, and all who frequented her home, that this was her personal motto. She lived it daily her entire life. I miss her more than words can express, and these words resonate with me daily. Thank you for sharing them!
Sarah, thank you for sharing that your precious sister kept this scripture above her sink and what a wonderful motto and reminder for all to see. I didn’t have a sister, but a brother. I can’t begin to imagine the loss you feel. I love the beautiful memory and that you shared it❤️
Oh, how I love the dancing light in The Sunshine Cottage! It makes me smile along with you, tea table. Such a pretty teapot, and I love your teacups too. The little Bavarian plate on top of your plate stack is darling.
I also enjoyed the little mailman. Adorable!
I feel so bad for Sweet Man, as I have not been baking much. (I have omitted sugar and flour to some extent.) He would love your cannoli bars. I lost 24 pounds for my surgery and have continued to lose weight.
Anyhoo, enjoy your tea with your friend!
Hope your caregiving is still going strong. 😄
Thanks so much, Nancy! Congratulations on your weight loss, that is fabulous! I am taking care of my RM!❤️
Your tea time table is absolutely lovely, Pam! I especially adore that pretty teapot and tablecloth. Your treats look delish! Thank you for sharing this with us. ♥
Michele, your comments are so sweet and thank you ❤️
Figurines for the table–what a great idea, Pam! We still have a few of our favorite hand-me-down Hummels, Royal Doultons, Lladros, etc. from parents and grandparents. The kids don’t want them! But I like the idea of taking one or two out of curio cabinet or off the shelf for display on the table where we can better enjoy them. I was also delighted to read that your mailman figure was in honor of your daddy. My dad was a mail carrier too when I was young! For awhile he delivered on our street. In summer I’d sometimes walk with him as far as a nearby drugstore. He’d buy me an ice cream bar for the walk home. Sweet memories!
Thank you, Nancy! I love using all kinds of collectibles for my tablescapes! They are usually a fond memory. I am particularly partial to anything that might have a memory attached. I have a large collection of Hummels dating back to the 70’s and early 80’s. I have used them several times on tables. How interesting that we both had fathers that were mailmen.
Pam, your Valentine tea table is gorgeous! I love the cute mailman that honors your sweet daddy. The Fenton vase with roses and baby’s breath is beautiful. The desserts look tasty. The cannoli recipe sounds delicious as well. I’ve been preparing for the winter storm that hit us late in the night Friday. We were told to gather food and water and prepare our homes for temps we rarely see! I’m watching it sleet like crazy right now. We have snow, sleet and freezing rain all day today forecast. We’re praying our power stays on! Your Valentine tea table was an enjoyable post that helped me relax a bit. Thank you! Clara❤️
Thank you Clara. I am so glad it helped relax you a bit. I hope your power is on. We have only had rain here, but teens in the morning. They are warning of black ice tomorrow. I hope you have power, stay warm, and be safe my friend❤️🙏🏻
What a lovely tea party! Your tea set is stunning!
Thank you, Ricki Jill!
It was so nice to see Kitty here with you again! She surely is such a sweet blogger and a precious friend, too. I love all the photos with the light streaming in over your beautiful tables. God bless you!
Kitty is a sweetheart! Thank you Cheryl.
