Hello friends and Happy February! We have been experiencing bitter cold the past few days in our Appalachian Foothills of Northeast Alabama! We only saw a few snowflakes, but I know many of you had significant snow and it is probably still on the ground.
“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.”
1 Corinthians 13:4-6 (ESV)
Can you believe this is the first Monday of February? It seemed January happened while I wasn’t looking. Grab a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate and join me in our family room!
It is the February edition of Monday Morning Blooms and we are celebrating Valentine’s Day! You will find my friends, Mary’s and Lidy’s links at the bottom of this post.
The coffee table is set with chocolates and coffee! Did you know that on Valentine’s Day, chocolate has no calories?!
I love using the small vintage red and pink flower basket pitcher ‘Charlotte’ by Alfred Meakin! Ruffled pale pink and red carnations, red spray roses, and pink alstroemeria offer the appropriate colors for Valentine’s Day.
My RM loves Hershey’s kisses. He has fond memories of his Papa Kennedy’s jar of kisses that was always full and ready for him to raid when he was a little boy!
I enjoy one on one time with a friend! Valentine’s Day is a perfect opportunity to invite a friend for coffee, chocolate, conversation and perhaps reminiscing!
“A day without a friend is like a pot without a single drop of honey left inside.”
~Winnie the Pooh
“Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart.”
~Eleanor Roosevelt
“Oil and perfume make the heart glad, and the sweetness of a friend comes from his earnest counsel.”
Proverbs 27:9 (ESV)
“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: “What! You too? I thought I was the only one.”
~C.S. Lewis
I have a couple of wonderful friends that we started first grade together! Now that was a few years ago. We still talk and see each other as often as possible! The song, “You can’t make old friends” is true. There is something very special when you have a history with a friend. I am thankful that I have many friends that our history goes back not just in years, but decades!
Of course, my gold-crowned red velvet heart made its appearance for one more Valentine’s table!
“Who is this one that always comes when no one else comes? Who is this one who notices when no one else notices? Who is this one that I find next to me on the mountaintop but also in the valley? What should I call this person who celebrates when I celebrate, mourns when I mourn, and cries when I cry? I think I shall call her friend!”
A fire gives warmth and ambiance to any winter occasion!

A frosty good morning to you Pam! I love getting a glimpse of your beautiful home and interiors. I have the same pitcher which I love, and you reminded me to get it out and give it it’s due with the pretty-in-pink transferware pattern. . . such a pretty bouquet of blooms for your pitcher too! Your sweet treats look wonderful, especially your cookie tart. I’m envious of your fireplace this morning with our single digit temps. We’re advised to conserve power this morning until 10 am to prevent power outages, so we’re bundled up with blankets. I’m getting ready to join my dogs on the sofa. As always it’s a treat to share blooms with you. Stay warm & cozy, Happy February ❤️
Thank you Mary! I love sitting next to the fireplace on a cold morning. Wishing you a lovely week and a warm up!
Winter is really upon us all. The pitcher is so pretty and I love the heart plate. I love that you did this little vignette on your coffee table. Super cute for afternoon treat. Stay warm and cozy inside. Hugs. Kris
Thanks so much Kris! I hope you stay warm!
Pam what a wonderful treat this early morning to virtually sit with you in your cozy family room for tea and crumpets…ok, not tea or crumpets but you understand because you are my friend which by the way, I love each of your friendship quotes. I agree on friends one has known for years as I have a few of these special ones. I have a friend in Nebraska that I have known for so long and even if we may go for awhile without talking or writing…we just ‘pick up where we left off’ the last time we spoke. We know we are there if needed and both suffered the loss of husbands at about the same time (over 25 years ago) as well as many other of life’s happenings. Thanks for the quotes. Your lovely transferware pitcher is perfect for your red & pink blooms and if the red velvet crowned heart did not make an appearance, I would be searching for it. The ambiance of a cozy fire, sweet treats and enduring friendships make for a very special Valentine’s Day, no matter where one lives, but hoping the weather warms for all. Blessings my friend.
Thank you sweet Kari. It would be so much fun to actually visit with each other, rather than virtually❤️
I always enjoy being in your family room because you know how to put color together well. The prints are beautiful and I love your green sofa. Now on to Valentines Day. The little pitcher is so cute. It is just right and holds the perfect little valentine arrangement. The coffee table book by Carolyn Roehm is one I’d like to sit with you and a good cup of coffee and enjoy her beautiful home together.
Alice, it would be perfect if you could join me for coffee and enjoy all of my decorating books! We could spend hours and never exhaust all the books ❤️
What a cozy Monday Morning Blooms in your family room by your fire, Pam! Your pitcher filled with flowers looks so pretty on your coffee table, along with all your yummy treats. I loved all the quotes you shared on friendship. Enjoy your time with your longtime friends. ❤️
P. S. Love your family room decor and that leopard rug….swoon!
Thank you Kitty. I have had the leopard rug for 20 years and I still love it❤️
Pam, Your living room is cozy and inviting. The pitcher bouquet is beautiful! I enjoyed reading all the verses about love and friendship. I have a lifelong friend of more than 6 decades. She lives in another state but we have always kept in touch and meet up once a year for several days. It’s a true blessing to have friends for decades! Your cocktail table is the perfect setting for your Valentine setting. Hope you have a wonderful week! Clara❤️
Thank you Clara. Old friends are the best. I hope it has warmed up for you❤️
All this red and pink makes me very happy! Have a wonderful, “lovely” week!
Thank you Jeanie!
So lovely Pam❣️ Enjoyed each scripture and quote, the sweet flowers and your beautiful home. Happy February❣️
Thank you Sue! Blessings on your week ❤️
Good morning Pam, what a cozy spot to entertain a dear friend for Valentine’s. All the beautiful quotes you gathered about friendship are so lovely. I must admit to usually having a bag of Hershey kisses in my pantry! I saw your Caroline Roehm book. Her beautiful home in Charleston is for sale. If you like a great interior design tour like I do, the listing is at 174 Tradd Street. It is just a teeny tiny bit above my budget!! Guess we need to hunker down for 6 more weeks if the groundhog was right, so stay warm.
Thank you, Roxanne. I remember photographing her home as we were walking by. It might not be in my budget, either!
Good morning Pam. Happy February and happy Monday Morning Blooms, dear friend. I love joining you in your lovely family room, it’s always so cozy and comfortable.
Your lovely pitcher reminded me I have plates like that that I should pull out and use. The flowers look perfection in your pitcher. And I’m sure your RM loves the treats, including that cookie tart.
I often wish I could peek around the corner in your home, garden and Sunshine Cottage to hear the laughter of your family as you share life together.
Sending you love for a blessed February, dear Pam,
Lidy
Lidy, you are so sweet and thank you❤️
I am swooning over your red and white pitcher filled with those sweet frilly carnations. Oh, how I would love to join you for coffee in your family room. ! Everything is so pretty in red and white. And that little heart plate is darling.
How charming it is to sit by the fire while we chat. Thank you for inviting us in dear friend! What a lovely afternoon. ❤️🤍
Thanks so much, Nancy! It would be fun to share an afternoon of conversation, chocolate, and coffee ❤️
Such a warm inviting friendship setting Pam! I love the quotes you have used & the whole ambience of a Valentine’s ‘cuppa! with friends!
Blessings to you sweet friend, Jennifer
Thank you my friend!
Pam, it looks like you are ready to be dinning in a winter wonderland of love! The Valentine decorations you have designed are perfect for sharing, connecting and celebrating love! 💖💖💖
Mary, thank you for your sweet comments!
I love your living room, Pam. It is so classy and comfortably furnished. I’d love sharing friendship beside you there, enjoying your flowers, books, family photos and conversation. Beautiful floral arrangement in a lovely pitcher. We warmed up to 34° today! That’s the warmest in 8 days, and I just turned off the trickling water I’ve had running those 8 days.
Thank you Rita! We warmed to 50 and cut off our trickling water. January was a cold month! Makes me anticipate springtime!
There’s so much to love here, Pam. I can’t put into words this evening how I feel other than it ALL warmed my heart and soul. The quotes, arrangements, the history of friendship, you and RM, childhood friends, sweet treats, beautiful flowers, powerful verses from amazing men and women. I love you, dear Pam. Thank you for showering the world with so much love and beauty!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you my sweet friend. How lovely it would be if you could join me. I love you Karla ❤️🙏🏻❤️
The moon images are breathtaking! Our Creator paints beautiful skies!!
You’re welcome, precious Pam. I’d love to join you! I had a dream of you two nights ago. It was so real~ we were together.
Thank you for your precious comments. And prayers! I closed comments as I’m working on a special series of prayers. I love you so much! ♥️🙏🥰🤗
Oh I needed to see all the glorious shades of red and pink this morning, Pam. Everything outside is either white or gray right now. Thanks for bringing in the sunshine and the celebration and all those good things.
God is so kind.
Thank you Linda!
Pam, tea and crumpets is always welcome. Love seeing the pink and reds for Valentines. Your living room looks all cozy. The pitcher is lovely with the fresh flowers.
Thanks so much, Linda!
Love your setting and quotes too! True Friends are Special!!💕 Speaking of love….your decor is beautiful.
Thanks so much, Nancy!
Tea time next to a cozy fire is a favorite treat for me. I’m happy to know that Valentine chocolates have no calories. I find myself buying chocolates for “photo ops” and then casually consuming one by one as I happen past. Dangerous habit!
I have few pieces of red transfer ware, and your small pitcher filled with blooms inspires me to add some more. I often use pitchers and creamers and such for containers for flowers. I spy your pretty velvet heart. A friend gifted me one years ago. They are very special.
Happy Valentine’s to your and Butch.
Thank you Sarah! Chocolates are so tempting, I do the same in passing them!
Stunning post… That Pink pitcher Charlotte made me swoon, just wonderful with your gorgeous flower arrangement!!!
I am glad I stopped by! Thank you!
Yes! Longtime friends are surely the best. They have stood the test of time. I totally agree that January went by so fast! I told Kevin, January seemed like a blur. I wish time would slow down. We just have to enjoy every second we are given and cherish our time with our precious loved ones. God bless you today, sweet friend!
