Happy Tuesday friends. Can you believe that it is only eleven days to meteorological spring? Yesterday treated us to sunshine, blue skies, 69 degrees, and our first butterfly! Spring is probably only teasing but we don’t mind!
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.”
Numbers 6:24-26 (ESV)
Welcome to Tea On Tuesdays, a sweet time to enjoy simple pleasures like a cup of tea with a friend or maybe just taking time out for yourself on a busy day! Mary and I are always excited to welcome our friend and fellow tea enthusiast, Sarah from Hyacinths For The Soul.
You will find the links for lovely teatimes with Mary and Sarah at the bottom of this post.
Yes, it is still February and the winter season, but the promise of spring is on my mind. I just couldn’t help myself adding a spring touch to my winter tea!
I am serving a delicious Cocoa Berry Tea that was a sweet gift from my friend, Kitty. Many of you know Kitty from her blog, Kitty’s Kozy Kitchen and from her guest appearances on Tea On Tuesdays.
This butterfly teapot is a definite nod to spring and it just makes me smile! It was purchased several years ago from Pier 1. Don’t we all miss that store?
Another nod to springtime are the daffodils! These come up every year in a nearby pasture in early February and are called Lent daffodils!
The fruit tablecloth is at least 23 years old. The fabric is Schumacher and my kitchen windows are still wearing this beautiful fabric. I have never tired of its colorful squares of fruit!
A recent trip to Trader Joe’s provided all the sweet treats. I know it is proper to offer a savory or two, but I would skip those and go straight for the sweets. Raspberry Mousse cakes, Orange Cranberry Scones, Cookies ‘N Cream Mini Sheet Cake, and Mini Almond Biscotti were enjoyed by my granddaughters for a Valentine’s Day tea. They loved all of the sweets, but their favorite was the Raspberry Mousse Cakes!
‘Fruit Rapture’ by Mikasa is my everyday pattern. Lemons, cherries, grapes, pears, blackberries, and apples are placed upon a soft blue and green border! The pattern is one of Mikasa’s ‘Optima’ lines of super strong fine china especially created for both everyday and special occasion use. I have 12 place settings and all of the serving pieces of this now discontinued china. I looked it up on Replacements and was surprised at how expensive it is now.
As most of you know, I am a collector of way too many things. One of the collections is small in size, therefore not taking up too much space. The tiny enameled and bejeweled teapot trinket box is one among many!
A sweet reader said, “I love the way the light rays come through and envelope your teatime tablescape. It’s like the angels are blowing swirling kisses upon your tea party.”
One of the prettiest harbingers of spring are the daffodils! Our cottage garden daffs should be in bloom by the end of this week!
“Tea is the magic of everyday moments.”

The butterfly teapot rests upon Bordallo Pinheiro cabbage plates!
We rarely have a theme for our Tea On Tuesdays and I enjoy seeing how we individually interpret the occasion. Our three teatimes today could not be anymore different. You have a special invitation to join Mary and Sarah for their beautiful and unique teatimes!

Good morning Pam, Your tea table in your Sunshine Cottage is so cheery and a perfect segue into spring! I’ve long admired your butterfly teapot (I so miss Pier1) and love your tablecloth and Mikasa ‘Fruit Rapture’. Oh to have a Trader Joe’s nearby…I’ll take an Orange Cranberry Scone! Daffodils are definitely harbingers or spring…ours are coming up and will put on a growth spurt with our warming temperatures this week. As always, it’s a treat to join you for tea. ☕ Wishing you a wonderful week ahead. ❤️
Thank you Mary. I enjoyed a Chai latte this afternoon!
Good morning, dear Pam! I am so happy to join you for tea in your Sunshine Cottage. The dancing shadows are so lovely. I always enjoy seeing your butterfly teapot. And to have it with the daffodils is perfect! It was you who started me on my collection of bejeweled trinket boxes. I have also purchased them for friends!
It was a joy to sit with you this morning. Thank you so much. Enjoy your Tuesday!
It is always fun to share tea with you Nancy. I just love the bejeweled trinket boxes and happy you started a collection!
Oh Pam, the only place we are seeing daffs is the grocery store and they never seem to open up quite right, with slightly saggy heads! You not only have a gorgeous table but perfect daffs!
Thanks so much, Jeanie! It was another beautiful 70 degree day!
Oh my goodness, please deliver that early spring glimpse to me! Yes, we are inching upward in temps this week, but there are still snow patches scattered about where it had been shoveled or fallen off roofs. The sighting of a butterfly and pulling out the teapot with the butterfly, along with Lent daffodils make my heart skip a beat! The treats ALL look fabulous, and I was also privy to a cup of cocoa berry – dessert-like delicious! I love how each of you interpreted your winter tea times so varied!
Thank you Rita! Those snow patches can be really ugly after days on the ground, especially if mud collects on them. The cocoa berry tea was delicious!
Good morning, Sunshine! Oh, how I enjoy tea in the Sunshine Cottage, Pam. Your sunlit space always draws me in. I’m with you on eagerly awaiting spring and the pretty blooms soon to be. Just yesterday I noticed that the Red Bud trees are beginning to bloom, and my patch of bluebonnets are up and growing.
I adore that precious little teapot. How special! Obviously the butterfly teapot steals the show though. What a beauty! Your treats look delicious. Thanks for including me in this month’s Tea on Tuesdays. You and Mary are so kind to invite me to share along with you.
Thank you, Sarah. Redbuds haven’t begun to bloom here, but it won’t be long. We always love having you to join us!
Oh Pam, I loved your hint of Spring in your teatime today! I actually visited my favorite nursery yesterday and I was delighted by all that was on display. I must tell you that the Numbers verse is what I blessed my family with at Christmas time. It’s so beautiful, isn’t it? I’m so happy you liked the tea! Your tablecloth is perfect with your darling teapot and your everyday dishes. Oh please, save me one of those raspberry mousse cakes! Thank you for all the beauty shining in your Sunshine Cottage.
The tea was excellent, Kitty. My girls loved the raspberry mousse cakes and now they are gone. The Numbers verse is a favorite of mine!
Pam I love your sweet tea pot and yes I miss Pier One so much. The treats look so yummy too.
Hugs and Happy New Week. Hugs Kris
Thank you, Kris! The treats were great!
A butterfly this early in February surely must be a harbinger of Spring. And your butterfly teapot is a favorite of mine. The little trinket box teapot beside it makes me think of mother and child. I collected teapots for a while but when they became to many to store I b fan to give them away to people that loved them. I’m down to maybe 8. Oh the love of the old fashioned buttercups as my grandmother called them, they are the star on your table to me, Happy Tuesday with your friends.
Thank you Alice. I would have loved seeing a photo of all your teapots. How sweet of you to give them away to people that loved them. My grandmother also called them buttercups!
Perfect Pam….an ode to the desired Spring we are all desperately seeking. Of course I have been described as a “Spring” when having my ‘colors’ done many many years ago but I can’t help loving the flowers of Spring such as the bright yellow daffodils, which always brings the song SECRET LOVE to my mind from Doris Day as Calamity Jane which she sang “Now I shout it from the highest hills…even told the golden daffodils”. Sigh….the Spring lilacs are not far behind. Your table is lovely. I adore your everyday dinnerware and teapot trinket box. We would love to see your collection of them some time. Hugs and Blessing my friend.🥰❤️🥰
I was also a “spring” those many years ago. I still love hearing all the Doris Day songs. I think we are telling our age my friend 🥰❤️
So happy to see a bit of Spring, thank you Pam! We’ve been experiencing 50 mile an hour winds and blowing snow, so to see those lovely Lent daffodils in that gorgeous green vase was delightful! The sunshine and ALL of your happy tea table was so much fun to see. The little teapot trinket box stole my heart…so sweet. I can imagine the delight on your granddaughter’s faces at seeing those beautiful and delicious treats! The Scripture today is one of my most loved. As always, your post brings such joy and beauty, thank you Pam! 🌞🌿🌼🌿🌞
Suethose 50 mph winds sound horrific. I hope that settles soon. The verse is also a favorite of mine. The girls loved all the treats, but especially the mousse cakes!🥰
Pam, a lovely tea time with your pretty butterfly teapot. The Lent daffodils are lovely. We have some blooming too. The treats looks pretty tasty, especially with a cup of tea or coffee.
Thank you Linda. I know your garden is beautiful, especially with daffodils!
I love how the rays of Sunshine come through the window onto the Tea setting Pam. And how lovely was that comment about the rays of light!
Blessings, Jennifer
Thank you Jennifer!
Spring IS just around the corner. The birds have begun to chirp and sing, and according to my gratitude journal of past years, our daffodils should appear in the next few weeks. Then again, it’s not too late for another snowstorm or two, and we’ll be wearing our winter coats most of the time till well into April. But each sign of Spring is cause for celebration–which your tablescape inspires superbly!
Thank you Nancy. It’s the time of year when the weather can change quickly. We are enjoying the warmer weather and sunny skies!
I just love the butterfly teapot and your colorful and always changing table settings.
Thank you Cindie. It is wonderful to hear from you!
I enjoyed your sip of spring as I read your post. Lovely tea setting!
Thank you Mary for your sweet comments!
Pam, it is so cold here right now that it warmed my heart to see your delightful spring tea table! The daffodils are gorgeous and the butterfly teapot from Pier 1 is just darling (I have butterflies on my mind ever since seeing Pottery Barn’s spring butterfly dish collection lol). Your everyday dishes are so pretty and I love the sun streaming through the windows onto the table. The sweets look so good, and I’m with the grands for the raspberry mousse cakes. Love the little teapot trinket box. I’m so happy that you are getting some spring weather your way even if it’s only a teaser. Have a wonderful rest of the week!
Kim, I know it must be so cold where you are. I haven’t seen the butterfly dish collection from PB, but I must take a look. Happy Weekend my friend!
Pam, I love your tea table. Your butterfly teapot is a favorite as it reminds me of a New Orleans store where the prettiest porcelain teapots were displayed in the window near Jackson Square. We always enjoyed going in there many years ago. I’m with you; bring on the sweet treats! I rarely eat the savory ones unless I have skipped lunch. Your daffodils are gorgeous in the beautiful green vase. Hope you have a great weekend! Clara❤️
Thank you Clara! Happy weekend to you❤️
Amazing Tea time! Those Daffodills are magnificent. The butterfly teapot is precious! Always a pleasure stopping by!
Thank you sweet friend!
