“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life”
John 3:16
Hello sweet friends…from the country! If you have been following our blog for a while you know that we live on about twenty acres in the Appalachian Foothills here in Northeast Alabama. And there is no telling what you will see when you look out into our pasture! We’ve seen it all…foxes, raccoons, deer, rabbits, and unfortunately coyotes and armadillos. During this time of year, our resident turkeys are out in full force…and I know you’re wondering “what in the world does this have to do with Tablescape Tuesday?” I’m glad you asked! Last Wednesday afternoon, Butch was home and per usual, he was watching several gobblers that were wandering about in the pasture. They moved to the side of the house, so he went to look out our bedroom window. And I heard him yell for me to get back there quick…I had NO idea what to expect! As I was walking into the room, he said “you will not believe your eyes”…
…and I didn’t! Three gobblers and a male PEACOCK! Yes, you read that right…a PEACOCK! Now where in the world did he come from?! Your guess is as good as ours…but apparently he has made friends with the turkeys. And that wasn’t his only appearance…I saw him again on Friday! A mystery, indeed! Now let’s get back to the tablescape and we will tie this all together! Friday was Butch’s birthday and the two of us celebrated at a favorite restaurant in Birmingham. His “official” party was Saturday, and how else would we celebrate other than a peacock party! Since I already had peacock salad plates and we now have a resident peacock, why not?!
