Always Thankful

WISHING ALL OF YOU A BLESSED THANKSGIVING

Everyday living can be hard, hard, hard! God used a man named Paul to encourage us and others and teach us the key to having joy and being thankful, even in the worst of situations. In every situation, good or bad, he said “rejoice”.  He didn’t say be glad and thrilled over our situation, but here is what he said:

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:4-6‬ ‭

The “key” appears to be his eternal perspective and his refusal to view life through an external, physical, earthly lens. He rejoiced “in the Lord” and could therefore be always thankful!

It is 2020. Probably that is enough said. We don’t always have the Apostle Paul outlook, but we know he was inspired to write what he wrote and empowered to live as he lived…so we are working on it! Hello sweet friends. It is so hard to believe that Thanksgiving is a little over two weeks away! Thanksgiving is a favorite holiday because it redirects our focus from daily clutter, daily challenges, daily distractions, and daily busy-ness…to remembering that everyday living, Jesus understands. And, that is a fact I am truly grateful for!

I dug into the archives to bring you ideas and inspiration for your Thanksgiving tables. No matter the number of beautiful faces that will surround your table, whether two or twenty, why not make your tablescape pretty and inviting?

A Thankful Thanksgiving

Hello sweet friends. November is here and we will celebrate one of my favorite holidays…Thanksgiving!

I am joining a group of table stylists to share inspiration and ideas for your Thanksgiving celebration. A special thank you to Chloe at Celebrate & Decorate for organizing us.

I have been hosting Thanksgiving for many years. My heart will be full as my family gathers around the dining room table! I will serve the traditional recipes from my beloved Mother. Turkey with dressing, rosemary mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green beans Caesar, four cheese macaroni, yeast rolls, and jellied cranberry sauce from the can (my Daddy’s request). Desserts will be pecan pie and carrot cake. Most of us will have tables laden with food while many around the world will go to bed hungry. Am I thankful enough for Food? Clothing? Shelter? Or do I take these basic needs for granted?

Finding contentment always begins with a heart filled with thankfulness for the blessings that we have received.
