“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful…
…let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God…
…and whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Colossians 3:15-17

Putting Down Roots: My Gardening Journey
“For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together”
Colossians 1: 16-17
Before we dive in to today’s post, let’s talk about a big day coming up here at Everyday Living! Next Monday, we will be partying in the gardens with my Gardens Galore Link-Up! It doesn’t matter if it is your garden this year, last year, or even a few years ago! You can share with us gardens that you have visited, vegetable gardens, flowers around your home, flowers on your tables, tablescapes with gorgeous flowers, paintings of gardens, or even what you want your future garden to be! Make sure you are here on Monday, June 12 as we get this party started at 8am central time! Be sure to link back to Everyday Living on the posts that you share!
Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would become a weed pullin’, flower plantin’, dirt lovin’ gardener. I have appreciated beautiful gardens all my adult life, but they were just eye candy, and not for me! We built our home thirty eight years ago on farming land in the middle of a pasture, and let me tell you, our backyard has played many roles! It was a baseball field for our son, held a trampoline, swing sets, an above ground swimming pool…it was everything BESIDES a garden. But that changed in late winter 2015 when we decided to get started on what we now call our little haven. It has been a whole lot of work, trial and error, but definitely worth it! I have blogged many times about this little gardening adventure, and today I am going to take you through my journey of how I have come to love all things gardening!

Tablescape Tuesday: A Box O’ Hydrangeas
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
Romans 8:37
Last Saturday evening, we had our long-time friends over for dinner…and if you know me, you know that I wanted to treat them alfresco style! But unfortunately, as soon as I set the table, the clouds started rolling in. So we took it to the dining room to enjoy an evening of good food and many laughs! Although I was a little disapppointed not to be on the patio, there is one good thing about it: we didn’t have to fight the pesky mosquitoes or the summer heat in the dining room!
But before we take a look at today’s tablescape, I wanted to remind you all about our Gardens Galore Link up!
Next Monday, June 12, come back around 8am (central time) to party with us in the garden! You can link your personal garden, a garden you’ve visited, pretty flowers you’ve photographed, potted flowers around your home, your vegetable garden…anything that has to do with gardening! It can be a recent post or a post from years ago…there really are no rules! The only rule is that you have fun! I will be sharing some of them on Facebook, Instagram, and on my blog! Can’t wait to see all of the beautiful posts you share!
Now, on to the patio…and our box o’ hydrangeas!

I discovered a tablecloth I hadn’t used in a long time…a pale blue and white paisley!
