Spring officially begins on March 20th, but its splendor is already evident in our Appalachian Foothills!
“The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.”
Song of Solomon 2:12 (ESV)
The bunny couple are dressed in fashionable spring attire and holding their signs to welcome their favorite season! I am excited to join 15 talented table stylists for a Spring Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by my friend, Rita from Panoply. You will find all of the links for creative tabletops at the bottom of this post.
Who doesn’t love an easy centerpiece? The ‘Pansy Parade’ Fitz and Floyd bunny could not have been happier when the bookcase door opened and she hopped out! She was most excited when she realized she would have a starring role on my spring table! The bunny was nestled in moss to keep her secure. The lovely wooden bowl was a Mother’s Day gift last year from our son. He and WL personally shopped for this present which makes the gift special and it is now in my memory-attached treasured pieces.
The splendor of spring was in plain view last week when I decided to move everything from the dining table to the picnic table next to the woodlands. It was a partly sunny, breezy, 80 degree day…much too beautiful to be indoors!
“There is an unexplainable stirring that occurs when winter finally exhibits the humility to completely bow out and relinquish all rights to spring!”
~ Butch Richardson
This adorable bunny was made by my beloved Mother and is lovingly displayed during the spring season!
RM sows rye grass in early fall and it stays green all winter and throughout spring until our temperatures become too hot. It makes a beautiful green carpet during March and April!
Spring offers many opportunities for celebrations. Not only do we love the passing of winter, but three of our four grandchildren have spring birthdays…March, April, and May! My RM will turn a year older in April. Mother’s Day is another special spring day for our family! With all of these precious blessings, our greatest blessing is Easter! Easter is a time for family, friends, food, and a springing forth of new life all around us. We celebrate the resurrection of Christ, new life that is eternal. The beauty of spring will again give way to another autumn in a few months, but the significance of His empty tomb will never change!
The whimsical flower crown bunny napkins by Mary Lake-Thompson came from my favorite local gift shop! Marbelized chalk eggs and egg cups were found at Cracker Barrel’s gift shop more than twenty years ago. Readers have asked me, what are chalk eggs? All I know is that they feel and look like chalk and I still have the boxes they were packaged in and labels plainly say chalk eggs!
Famille Rose dinner plates and salad plates, Noritake Reverie stemware, and brushed gold flatware are always a good choice for a spring or Easter table!
The pink and white checked tablecloth is a favorite for our Easter table, but it is a pain to iron!
The sweet bunny was a gift many years ago from one of my dearest friend’s granddaughter! The granddaughter lives in Sweden and is now married. I always think of her and what a darling child she was when I unwrap the rabbit.
Most of you know we live in the country on quite a few acres of land. What you see in the background is a pole barn that houses RM’s tractor, ATV, fertilize spreader, garden tiller, etc. Pole barns and country living seem to go together! When the trees leaf out, the pole barn is less visible.
The Williams Sonoma ‘Famille Rose’ bunny plates came in a boxed set of four…
two green…
…and two pink.
“It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold, when it is summer in the light and winter in the shade.”
~ Charles Dickens
A couple of flasks from The Paris Market in Savannah, Georgia hold blooms from our Japanese Magnolia tree. I have fond memories of spending time at The Paris Market shopping for antiques, sitting in their cafe drinking cappuccinos, eating fresh-baked pastries, and especially their fabulous macarons. The cafe has been called “The Most Beautiful Coffee Shop in Georgia.” While RM was in business meetings, I would enjoy this unique historical city!
EM and EK love the mother bunny and child!
The splendor of a spring day with blue skies and puffy white clouds with Lookout Mountain in the distance as the sunlight casts shadows on the grass; ahh, spring at its finest!

Good morning Pam, You have so many adorable bunnies at your table! I know your grand girls must look forward to seeing you pull them out and give them their due. I’m smitten with your ‘Famille Rose’ bunny plates every time I see them and I’m big fan of Mary Lake-Thompson and love your napkins! Your mom’s sweet painted bunny is a treasure. Butch’s rye grass makes such a verdant and wonderful back drop to your table with Lookout Mountain in the background. As always, it’s a treat to join you at the table and hop with you. I hope you’re enjoying some beautiful spring weather this week, we are definitely heating up! 🐇🩷
Good morning, Pam. Wow, this spring table gives me all the feels, especially being that it’s set outside. Pole barn and all the wonderful details, I love it all! I love both Butch’s and Charles Dickens’ quotes too, and I certainly felt the messages this past week while being outside. The Famille Rose bunny plates are such a wonderful addition your classic pattern dinner plates, and all those adorable bunnies on the table are as sweet as can be. They sure temper the feelings we have when the real deals wreak havoc in our gardens, don’t they?? The mother/child bunny is a favorite for me, too, just like EM and EK. Your Reverie stems always make me smile, as does your china in that pattern. In helping my niece clean out my sister’s things, I came upon some chalk eggs too, but without the boxes. They’re my newest little treasures to have out for the season. The memory reminders like you share with your Mother’s and friend’s granddaughter’s bunnies are such wonderful little additions to the table. Not to mention the Pansy Parade’s bunny in the starring role of the newest wooden bowl!
Pam, thank you for joining in this and the many blog hops with your beautiful style.
What a lovely spring table. You have so many bunnies with special meaning on your sweet table. I am glad you let Pansy Parade bunny come and be the star of the table. She is so adorable. Have a beautiful new week. Hugs. Kris
