Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee, how great Thou art, how great Thou art. Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee, how great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Carl Boberg & Stuart Hine “For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.

Sunroom Tour: “Fall”ing Into Christmas
“Give thanks to the Lord of lords, for his steadfast love endures forever; to him who alone does great wonders, for his steadfast love endures forever;”
Psalm 136:3-4
Thanksgiving is in the air! And so is Christmas! It seems like every year, the lines continue to blur as to when to put away the pumpkins and drag out the trees. But may I pose the idea that you can decorate with both in mind?
On Tuesday, Katy and I went to the Caroline House at Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham to attend a lovely Christmas tour. After a light breakfast and a program of music, ballet, and an inspirational speaker we were welcomed into this beautifully decorated house. While most rooms were decked out for Christmas, I am showing you the sunroom today because it lent itself to both Thanksgiving and Christmas!
Stay tuned as I will show you more!
The pineapple is a symbol of hospitality…fresh fruit is perfect for Thanksgiving and Christmas! My eye was immediately drawn to the cross on the window! The pops of orange bring in autumn! The tree made of fresh greenery and flowers was the piece de resistance! Just beautiful! The antique bread bowl with pumpkins, pears, and wheat is mixed in the room with touches of Christmas…a blend of both holidays! Apparently someone sat on the sofa and messed up the pillow. Do you see it?! The decorator in me has tried to reach into this photo several times to straighten it! No luck! French side chair with velvet upholstery! The fresh floral arrangements throughout the house were gorgeous! The house had two dining rooms. This table was set along with two other round tables in the less formal space! Do you mix autumn and Christmas decor?
Do you begin Christmas decorating on Friday after Thanksgiving?

Tablescape Tuesday: The Spirit of Thanksgiving
“And you will say in that day:
“Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted”
Isaiah 12:4
I love the warm and earthy colors of autumn and Thanksgiving…the pumpkin orange, fiery reds & golds, and earthy browns! It’s almost as if they open their arms and welcome you! But, every now and then, it’s nice to change things up a little.
A few weeks ago, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I set a table using non-traditional colors and one of my all time favorites…leopard! At first glance, it may not seem like Thanksgiving, but keep looking…it is there.
As we approach this Thanksgiving, I want to encourage you all to look for God’s blessings. Look for them in what may seem like the mundane of your everyday living…the birds singing, leaves changing, and the smiles on the faces you love. God is often seen in the simplest, most unexpected places.
There is a certain elegance to a table setting without the use of a cloth or placemats!
The table runner is a sparkly gold scarf!
Would you believe I got an 8 place setting of this china for $30?
*
As you know, I love a touch of leopard…
3 pumpkins grace the center of the table!
A pair of vintage candle sticks hold striped candles!
*
Gold, white, and leopard, not your typical Autumn tablescape!
