On the second full day of autumn the sun briefly looked like a gigantic pumpkin sitting on the horizon. Maybe I’m just overcome with thoughts of pumpkins since I’ve been called on to get a few…by my people, for my people. The clouds winked at me one morning last week. We’ve not had too many clouds lately. It has become quite dry and remains very hot and breezy, typical September. The drier air does feel better though, and also allows for cooler nights! Lower humidity does add a touch of relief.READ MORE

The Colorful Bliss Of Autumn

Happy Tuesday and welcome sweet friends! The autumnal equinox is September 22nd and that is when fall officially begins. However, September 1st marked the beginning of meteorological fall, and since autumn happens to be my favorite, I say, “let the season begin”! We enjoyed last week’s cooler temperatures and lower humidities. Hopefully, more of the same this week!

Oh, the colorful bliss of autumn…it awakens all my senses! Unmistakable autumnal fragrances are captured and carried by a northwest breeze that whispers through the treetops while subtle but sure changes in the colors that surround me have become evident as I stand and gaze across the garden. I begin dreaming of a slice of pumpkin bread and a mug of hot apple cider. Long-time readers may recognize that those words are not mine, but are from my Renaissance Man.
